What Type of Warranty is Offered on Carpet Flooring?

Why is My Carpet Flooring Shedding?

It is not uncommon for new carpet flooring to shed for up to 120 days. The main reason for carpet shedding is due to loose fiber left from the milling process. It is recommended that the carpet be vacuumed frequently to eliminate or minimize the shedding.

How Do I Remove Stains from Carpet Flooring?

Some carpet stains can be removed using a spot-cleaning kit. Never scrub or brush stains’ blotting is recommended. Vacuum the area after cleaning. Always spot test in a discrete area before using any product. Always review your warranty’s condition and exclusions prior to using any solvents.

How Do I Clean My Flooring Product?

For carpet flooring maintenance, it is essential to regularly vacuum. To maintain stain warranty coverage, the carpet must be professionally cleaned every 24 months from installation.

Do You Carry Hardwood Flooring?

We offer a wide variety of solid and engineered hardwood flooring, which is suitable for many installation applications. We also offer a 3/4″ solid floor in select varieties in both prefinished and raw.

Can My Hardwood Floor be Refinished?

Yes, in most cases. All hardwood flooring may at some time require refinishing, depending on age, wear and tear. A traditional refinish refers to the process of stripping your floor and re-applying or changing the stain color. All of our hardwood floorings allow for “screen and recoat,” which is a process similar to a refinish but much less disruptive. A “screen and recoat” allows the finish of the flooring to be restored to its original look, without all of the mess of sanding and buffing.

How Do I Clean My Flooring Product?

For hardwood flooring maintenance, a slightly moist mop and a simple cleaning solution made with vinegar and water may be used. Following cleaning directions on solvents specifically approved to hardwood flooring can also be tried. Always review your warranty conditions and exclusions prior to using any solvents.

What is Bamboo Flooring?

Bamboo flooring is one of the most environmentally-friendly “green” flooring products on the market today. As one of the fastest-growing plants on Earth, the bamboo plant is known for its durability, as well as resistance to insects and moisture. Compared to hardwood, bamboo flooring tends to soften a room’s ambiance due to the product’s finish.

How is Bamboo Flooring Cleaned?

For all wood and wood-like flooring, wet spills should be wiped up immediately to prevent warping. A dry mop at least once a week should be used to maintain shine. When using cleaning agents specially formulated for bamboo flooring, it is important to follow the recommended manufacturer’s directions for use. A damp, soft material should be used for cleaning spills, scuff marks or foreign matter that will require a more thorough cleaning.

Is Bamboo Flooring Subject to Moisture?

Bamboo is a natural product and will react to moisture and humidity, just as hardwood flooring will. Ensure that you are following the proper care guidelines to maintain the product’s finish.

Is Bamboo Flooring Scratch-Resistant?

Bamboo flooring has similar characteristics to hardwood flooring. Protectors should be placed under the legs of furniture and floor mats to preserve the flooring. To maximize the flooring’s appearance, refrain from dragging or dropping items that may cause scuffs or marks.

Bamboo flooring is known for its durability, but it is subject to the same type of wear-and-tear as hardwood flooring. It needs to be properly maintained using the manufacturer’s recommendations for cleaning and general care.

LAMINATE FLOORING

How Can I Remove Dried Glue from my Laminate Flooring?

Dried glue can be removed from laminate flooring using an organic solvent such as white spirit or thinner. Never use cleaning solvent directly on the product and spot test in a discreet area before cleaning. Always review your warranty’s condition and exclusions prior to using any solvents.

How Can I Repair Scratch Marks & Chips on Laminate Flooring?

For scratch marks and minor repairs, an approved laminate floor filler may correct minor damages. More serious damages may require replacing a plank.

How Do I Clean My Flooring Product?

For daily laminate flooring maintenance, a dry dusting with a microfiber cloth is suggested. For occasional cleaning, lightly water-spray a microfiber cloth. If using a cleaning solvent, only use laminate flooring recommended cleaning solvent. Always review your warranty conditions and exclusions prior to using any solvents.

Do I Need to Worry About Fading?

Can a Chip in my Laminate Floor be Replaced?

Even though laminate flooring is extremely durable, it is not indestructible. If severe damage to your floor occurs, it is possible to have a single plank replaced without ruining your entire floor.

How is Laminate Flooring Installed?

Laminate flooring is installed using a click or a locking system that will give your floor years of solid performance. This installation method does not require glue, so there is virtually no post-installation cleaning required.

Can Laminate Flooring be Installed Over my Existing Floor?

We can install laminate flooring over any level concrete, vinyl, ceramic or hardwood floor.

VINYL FLOORING

How is Vinyl Flooring Installed?

We use manufacturer-approved underlayments and adhesives for the full-spread vinyl installation process. We also have several products, which can be loose laid. Your sales consultant can provide more detail regarding the process.

What Do I Have to Do to Maintain my Vinyl Flooring After Installation?

After your vinyl flooring installation:

  • Traffic should be kept to a minimum during the first 48 hours
  • Loose dirt should be swept from the floor
  • Wash the floor with a non-abrasive floor cleaner;
    • DO NOT USE THE FOLLOWING:
      • Soap-Based Detergents
      • Abrasive or Mop Shine Products
      • Ammonia or Bleaches
      • Vacuums with Rotating Beater Bars
  • Ensure that furniture legs and/or appliances have a large surface, non-staining floor protectors

Does Vinyl Flooring Fade?

Almost all flooring shows some damage when exposed to direct sunlight over time. To avoid the effects of direct sun damage, drape or shade any windows that will expose the flooring to direct sunlight, and please be sure to consult your manufacturers’ warranties for further details.

Can a Floor Cover Such as a Welcome Mat or an Area Rug be Placed on Vinyl Flooring?

We recommend that you thoroughly read all warranty information prior to placing any rugs or mats on the floor. Rubber-backed rugs or non-ventilated rugs are not recommended for these types of floors.

Is Vinyl Flooring Water-Resistant?

The product that we install is extremely water resistant. Your sales consultant will provide you with further details.

Does Vinyl Flooring Come in Different Styles & Patterns?

Yes, we offer a wide variety of colors and patterns, including stone, ceramic and wood looks.

How Do I Get my Vinyl Flooring Repaired?

If the warranty has not been voided and the product was purchased from us, we can schedule an appointment to have a representative come to your home to assess the damage.

Can Vinyl Flooring be Installed Over Existing Flooring?

Yes, we can install vinyl flooring over most existing hard surface flooring. A sales consultant can assist with assessing the floor on-site.

Will Having Multiple Layers of Old Vinyl Flooring Complicate the Installation of New Vinyl Flooring?

The rule of thumb is a maximum of three layers.

Can Vinyl Flooring be Installed Over Concrete?

Yes, we can install vinyl flooring over concrete. Your sales consultant will be able to provide more details regarding pre-installation requirements once an on-site assessment is completed.

Is an Underlayment Used for Vinyl Flooring?

Yes, when necessary, we will use plywood underlayments to install the vinyl flooring.

Who prepares the floor prior to installation?

Our installation crew prepares the floor prior to installation.

Does the Existing Flooring have to be Removed?

An assessment can be made on a case-by-case basis. In some instances, an existing floor may need to be removed. Other instances may be able to accommodate a new floor installation over an existing floor. Your sales consultant can discuss floor removal options during the visit.

How Long Does it Take to Install Vinyl Flooring?

Vinyl floor installations are normally completed within two business days, depending on the size of the room and floor preparation requirements.
